According to The Advocate-Messenger, GLOSS magazine, published by Advocate Communications Inc., is looking to publish your story in their first issue! The contest is specifically for women, from all backgrounds. They are looking for those who have overcome struggles in their life and are able to reflect on the experience, no matter what it may have been. The publication encourages woman to stand up and be heard, which is why they are promoting their essay contest.
The guidelines are as follows:
-Write an inspiring 1,000 to 1,500 word non-fiction essay about yourself
-Enter it by 5 pm September 1st
-The winner will have her story published in the first issue of GLOSS, which will hit stands November 3rd The winner also will receive a prize, which will be announced at a later date.
-Participants must be at least 18 years of age to enter
-GLOSS staff members will judge entries and choose a winner. Judges will consider original style and compelling story
-Please submit your essay at glossthemagazine@gmail.com. We ask you submit documents as RTF files.
-Because of time constraints, we will only accept files submitted via e-mail. Entries will be edited for spelling and grammatical mistakes only.
