An early morning warm front moved east along the north side of the Kentucky border, converted the moisture in the air to rain, and dropped four to six inches of rain in southeast Knox County. Creeks in the area went over their banks, causing flash floods. Weather service reports indicate that at about 2:10 am, two miles east of London, trees on Old Way Road went down in Laurel County. Also, motorists were stranded in their cars by a flash flood along KY 92, two miles northwest of Chenoa about a mile from the Bell County line.
