After graduation from the University of Kentucky, Mr. Burks began a career with the Travelers Insurance Company where he was to serve in various capacities for the next 11 years.  Joining the Pohlmann Insurance Agency in 1970, he was active in the merger between the Johnson Insurance Agency and the Pohlmann Insurance Agency.  A specialist in commercial insurance, Mr. Burks’ over 45 years of experience in the industry well equips him to serve some of the region’s most important commercial enterprises.  Active in the community, he has served as an officer or on the boards of a number of organizations, including the Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club of Danville, Pioneer Vocational Industrial Services, Heart of the Bluegrass United Way and the Travelers Agents Advisory Council.  He is a past Grand Knight in the Danville Council of the Knights of Columbus.  Mr. Burks is married to Mary Bisig Burks.  The couple have two children, Scott and Julie, and four grandchildren.
